Ken takes no chances with Jiah

It seems that Jiah Khan’s ghost has come back to haunt director Ken Ghosh and the crew of Chance Pe Dance.

After the bitter experience that Jiah Khan went through when she was unceremoniously dumped from Chance Pe Dance, she is now visible in the film.

Jiah shot for around 20 days for the film before she was replaced by Genelia D’souza.  Our source said, “Yesterday afternoon, there was a trial for the cast and crew of the film in Bandra.

While watching the rough cut, they noticed that Jiah Khan was spotted in the background in one of the songs.

Ken Ghosh panicked and asked the operator to rewind the shot and his worst fear came true.  He was disappointed as he could not edit the shot as it was part of the song.

The technical error can’t be reshot as they can’t make the set and get the same dancers back for the song.

In fact, all the portions that Jiah had shot for were chopped or Genelia was replaced digitally.  nNow the entire team is trying to work out how Jiah can be removed from the song.

The technical crew is working overtime trying to either pixilate the portion where Jiah is visible or erase her from the frame. In either case, it will be a creative liberty.”

Ken Ghosh has decided that discretion is the better part of valour. He said, “I don’t know where you have heard this news and I do not wish to comment on this.”

It broke my heart – Priyanka Chopra

What’s Your Raashee? might have earned Priyanka Chopra a name in the Guinness Book of World Records for.

The 12 roles she played but not without a heartbreak. Now, she admitted that the failure of the film broke her heart.

Priyanka was hurt by the performance of What’s Your Raashee? at the box office because she had put in lots of efforts and hard work in doing her 12 roles.

She said that it would have been more painful had she not received appreciation for her performance. It maybe recalled.

That Priyanka got lots of accolades for her role in the hit film Kaminey starring Shahid Kapoor and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.

But her next film What’s Your Raashee? directed by Ashutosh Gowariker with Harman Baweja as the hero, failed terribly at the box office in spite of the hype it enjoyed.

All is not well with Katrina Kaif

It seems the sexy lady Katrina Kaif has taken up too much work and pressure of late, as this is clearly reflecting on her health now.

It is heard that Katrina is not keeping well and it is because of that she is postponing or cancelling all her scheduled assignments. Knowing that Kat is a stickler for keeping her appointments this has indeed come as a shocker.

The speculations on her health or rather ill health were confirmed by her absence at the clean-up drive event where she was appointed as the chief guest.

But didn’t show up. Our reliable source informed, “Katrina Kaif is not keeping well and the details of her illness cannot be divulged”.

Earlier, it was Amitabh Bachchan whose workaholic nature took a toll on his health and now Karina Kaif seems to be following in his footsteps. Recently, Katrina completed her film “Rajneeti’, which is a political drama. In the film, she is pairing with chocolate boy Ranbir Kapoor.

Deepika Padukone joins the crore club

Deepika Padukone has emerged as Bollywood’s dark horse in the ad world during 2009, doubling her take-home compared to what she was worth in 2007-2008.

According to media analysts and brand equity watchers, Deepika is much sought after in both premium and mass brands, right from high-end watches, airlines, clotheslines and even chewing gum.

According to industry estimates, from a time when she was charging around Rs 60 lakh for an endorsement.

Deepika now demands almost Rs 1.5 crore per ad, hot on the heels of Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif (both around Rs2 crore an ad) and Priyanka Chopra (Rs1.5–2 crore).

Veteran market analyst Harish Bijoor says it comes as “no surprise” that Deepika’s equity has doubled.

“If you look at the endorsements she has signed, she has been a front runner in landing many leading mass brands. With a few premium brands also signing her up, she’s closely competing with the top league of Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. However, none of them is even close to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the premium and high-end category.”

When contacted, Deepika said that endorsements are basically about versatility of image. “I think what made people accept me is that I can be glamourous and also the girl-next-door. I have heard this from people who have approached me with campaigns and endorsement offers. I have worked really hard to get what I’m getting. I’m very passionate about movies and my constant effort is to outdo myself and challenge my acting skills. I’m happy with what I have got — but this isn’t enough,” she says.

So what does she think about the other big three — Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra? “I just love how Kareena carries herself. She is extremely graceful. I think Katrina is very hard working and that is a big reason behind her success. Priyanka has shown how versatile she can be and done some very good work recently,” said Deepika, who has five back-to-back films releasing in 2010.
